This is my effort for the 2013 National Solo Album Month (NaSoAlMo) challenge.

In addition to the schedule and duration limits of the challenge itself, I imposed a few of my own constraints to ensure I spent most of my time on songwriting & performing:

I held off all efforts at mixing until the end.
I resisted anything musically that came too easily from habit or muscle memory or that I judged to be too similar to something I've done in the past.
No music was re-used, not even a 1-bar lick that never made it into a song... If I played it before, it was off limits.
No lyrics were re-used, not one line. I allowed myself to use ideas or topics in my notebook that had never been developed.
No songs were composed against a beatbox or loop.
No loops were made. If something needed to repeat four times then I played it 4 times. I did, however, allow punch in/out.

I gave myself a break by suspending engineering judgement and usual expectations of performance technique as necessary to get something down. It shows especially in my drumming and vocals.

I also attempted to use many instruments from my collection, and tried to start each song with a different instrument. This worked out at the beginning, but in the end the song I started on Cümbüş remained an instrumental; the songs I started with Kanklės and Glockenspiel were never fully developed and ended up being abandoned.
